Watching the genocide in Gaza unfold in real time is beyond horrifying. This humanitarian catastrophe with mass starvation, thirst and lack of basic medical care, along with nonstop violence, destruction and displacement… is hard to witness. It can create a sense of paralysis with the unsurety of what one can do to help. Spreading awareness, protests, calls to Congress, voting and donating are some of the things we can do.
Jeremiah and I started Art for Meals during the Covid pandemic….and decided to bring it back now with the intention that the donations be directed to the people of Gaza. Protecting humanity in Gaza should be helped by all of us in the international community.
“Our goal is to cook and distribute one million hot meals a day across Gaza. That is around five times what we’re cooking today, but it is possible and it is vital. Alongside more food aid from other NGOs, it would save countless lives among the people in Gaza who have been starving for months on end.” ” When you see our teams at work, in the kitchens, warehouses and bakeries in Gaza, you can see the best of humanity.” – José Andrés: What I saw in Gaza. World Central Kitchen NEWS 8.26.25
“U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric this week warned that starvation and malnutrition in Gaza are at the highest levels since the war began.” – Washington Post. 8/14/2025
